While the actual analysis is relatively simple, visualizing these trends and data can have profound effects on how we begin to understand cycling dynamics in the city, and organizing and preparing the data proved to be a challenging task on its own. The project shows the impacts the installation of separated bike lanes has had. Although we cannot concretely say that the installation of the lanes caused the increase in ridership, as there has to be demand from riders to prompt this infrastructure, there is a clear correlation in the increased volumes and separated bike lanes.

The change in patterns of accidents illustrated by this project highlight many things that need to be considered when moving forward. The patterns illustrated are opprtunities to learn how to increase safety for these locations and for future infrastructure in the city.

With the progress made in increasing ridership, this project highlights the opportunities to improve cycling conditions and decrease the rates of accidents. Analysis such as this should be continued over time as more data becomes available, so that we can better understand how to make this an even safer and efficient method of transportation.
